They come from several regions of Australia and they participate in various sports. They all love their sport and are excited about the opportunity to become better athletes.  Acceleration and it's sponsors are very happy that to help and proud to tell you their stories...

Sport: Football (soccer)

Greatest Achievement (so far):  Being asked by Falkirk Football club this year to return to Scotland for a trial upon turning sixteen years of age.

Daniel's Dream: To be a role model from my Aboriginal community in representing Australia as a Socceroo, and playing in teh English Premier League as a proessional football player.

Quote: "This scholarship gives me an awesome opportunity to (with professional guidance) work on my strengths, identify and target my weaknesses with an aim to additional improvement that will benefit my soccer."

 

 Lorna Shephard
Brisbane Central

Sport: Basketball

Greatest Achievement (so far): Playing for the U15 State Team and U16 State Squad 2008 and receiving Bronwyn Marshall Trophy representing the most promising player of the future.

Lorna's Dream: To play with the Opals and compete in Europe, Asia and USA being a main threat/player.

Quote: "Receiving this scholarship means that I have the opportunity to continue with Acceleration, and to work towards my goals and to become a better basketball player/athlete. I am excited about the upcoming year and what I will achieve with Acceleration."

Sport: Rugby

Greatest Achievement (so far): Being part of the Titans SG Ball this season and playing for the Palm Beach Currumbin team which took part in the semi final in the Arrive Alive Cup.

Luke's Dream:  To play professionally in the NRL.

Quote: "I am very excited about winning this scholarship. To be able to work with teh team at Acceleration will enable me to enhance my skills and performance in my chosen sport."
